Tip: There are two using methods to create your DVD- one is burning DVD without DVD Menu which is much easier. Another is burning DVD with DVD Menu which can make your new DVD more colorful and personalized.
Firstly let's start with the simplest using methods-Create DVD without DVD Menu.
Burning your precious video to DVD in the basic model, you only need three steps:

1. Load source video files
2. Select type of target file (Burn to ISO or DVD Disc or DVD Folder)
3. Click Start button to let XFreesoft DVD Creator start burning

Step two: Load video files
Press the “Load Videos…” button to load all the video files you want to burn, and then you can double-click your video in the file list to play.

After file loading, you can see the following interface:

Step three: Select target type
XFreesoft DVD Creator can burn to ISO File, DVD Disc, DVD Folder, you can select target type in the "Burn to" window according to your interest. See the pictures:

1.Burn to ISO File

note:" Save ISO File " and "Temp Directory": You must choose directory that consist of English letters and Characters,no other Characters except English. It is reported there may be something wrong if your directory have some other Characters.

2.Burn to DVD Disc

note: " Temp Directory:" You must choose directory that consist of English letters and Characters,no other Characters except English.It is reported there may be something wrong if your directory have some other Characters.

3.Burn to DVD Folder

note:" DVD folder " and " Temp Directory ": You must choose directory that consist of English letters and Characters,no other Characters except English.It is reported there may be something wrong if your directory have some other Characters.

Tip 1: You can choose TV Standard (NTSC or PAL)/Aspect Ratio (4:3 or 16:9) according to your own needs. Also you can rename the target files in “DVD Label” textbox.
Tip 2: You can press "Preview" button to preview DVD Content at any time.
Tip 3: Choose the volume of DVD-R (DVD-R 4.5 G or DVD-R 9.0 G) and the level of output quality (Low video quality or High video quality or Highest video quality) by clicking the dropdown arrow, which can decide how many minutes you can burn. Like this:

Note: The higher video quality you choose, the more DVD disc space your project will take up, then the fewer minutes of conversion will be available.

Step four: Start to burn

Click “start” button at the right bottom of the file list to start burning task. The interface looks like:

Edit DVD Menu (optional)
If you do not want to do any editing on the movie, please skip this step. But if you want to personalize your DVD and make it different from other’s, you need to do this step.

To enable DVD Menu, you need to check "Enable DVD Menu" box firstly and click “Advanced Mode” button to edit DVD Slideshow and DVD Menu.

After clicking “Advanced Mode” button, the dialog will be showed as below:

1. Edit Video Slideshow
A project contains one or more video slideshows. After you add your video files, you can start organizing the first slideshow. In the Collections Pane, select the files you want to add to the slideshow. Then drag and drop the selected video files to storyboard below to organize a slideshow.

Tip 1: If you want to sort the order of video files in a slideshow, you can choose the one and drag it to the position in which you want to put it.
Tip 2: Click “Add Slideshow” button when you want to add a new slideshow.
Tip 3: If the slideshow is not the one you wanted or you are not satisfied with the file, just click “Delete Slideshow” button. It can be finished just with one mouse click. It’s very convenient.
Tip 4: You can preview the selected video file by clicking “Play Slideshow” button.

2. Customize DVD Menu

XFreesoft DVD Creator provides you with a customizable and multi-functional DVD menu for your video slideshow. To edit your DVD menu, you just click the “DVD Menu” button on the above of the interface.

What’s more, the program lets you edit the following elements of your DVD menu:
Add background music
Click "Select Music …" button to add a music file from your hard disc to the current menu page. When you want to remove the added music, you just click the "Remove Music" button.

Customize background image
Click “Background Image" button to select one picture from the pre-set background images which have offered for you as the background image of your current menu page.

Select slideshow frame
Click "Frame Image" button. Then many available frame image will be listed on the upper left of the interface. Select the slideshow frame you want to replace, find the frame you want to use and double click to apply it to the selected slideshow. See the picture below:

Select menu buttons
There are two buttons on each menu page: Next/Previous button and Play button. If you click “Button Image” button, various of buttons will be shown on the upper left of the interface. Then you can select a Play button for the current menu page. If you want to replace the Next/Preview button of the current menu page, you can just double click the Next/Previous button. To apply a button, you can just double click it. See the figure below:

2.Edit menu text
If you click on a text on the current menu page, you can choose to change its Content, Font, Color, Size and set the text effects including Bold, Italic, Underline and Delete line.
Tip 1:You can adjust the size of any object on a menu template by dragging the frame around it.
Tip 2: If you want to add a new textbox, you just drag the “A” box.

3. Preview
After you finish editing your DVD project, you can click the “Preview” button on the main interface to preview it:
Tip 1: Click the Play button to start previewing your project from the first slideshow. You can also double-click the thumbnail frame to preview a slideshow.

Tip 2: If you want to preview the next menu page and don't want to wait till the slideshows on the first menu page have finished, you can just click the Next button to go to the next menu page.

Edit DVD Movie (optional)

XFreesoft DVD Creator provides you with powerful video editing functions, with which you can customize your video as you like. 

If you do not want to do any editing on the movie, please skip this step.

      button is quite magical. Select a title or chapter, and click the     button. You can crop the video, change the video’s effect or add a watermark on the video in the Video Edit window like this:

Tip 1: Crop Frame Size to Retain What You Want
Crop the picture frame of a video to remove any unwanted areas from it using this video converter like a pair of smart scissors.
Method: Click “Zoom” Combo box to select the ratio of the image, such as “Keep original”, “Fit to scene”, “16:9”, “4:3”, “Letter box” etc..
Click “Left”, “Top”, “Width”, “Height” Combo boxes to set the value of every property to meet your need.
Click “Reset” Button to preserve your setting.

Tip2?Customize video effect
Customize video effect by setting movie video “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Saturation” and choosing “Effect”, “Deinterlacing” Combo boxes to apply special video effects to your video files. Change the effect of the video according to your own interests. Improve the effects of interlacing video by using deinterlacing.

Brightness: Drag the Brightness adjustment bar to set the brightness of the video.
Contrast: Drag the Contrast adjustment bar to set the contrast of the video.
Saturation: Drag the Saturation adjustment bar to set the saturation of the video.
Effect: Click “Effect” to choose the effect of the video you want.
Deinterlacing: Click “Deinterlacing” to choose the way of deinterlacing.

Tip 3: Trim your favorite segment
Trim your favorite segment by clicking "Start Time" and "End Time" buttons, or just enter the begin and end time you like to get the fantastic clips. You can get the exact video clip that interests you. The program allows you to trim a video clip precise to MS, for example, from 00:00:00:10 to 00:00:33.

Tip 4: Add watermarks to your new converted videos

Add watermarks to your new converted videos to meet various different purposes. You can personalize your video with multiple pictures and/or text watermarks added in order to make your video different from others’.
Attention: You should tick Setup Watermark box firstly. Then just click Image Watermark circle and Text Watermark circle separately.

1. Add Image Watermark

In this section, you can get what you want by setting the attribute value of opacity, top, left, width and height. Also if you want to apply the current setting to all files, you just tick Apply to All box.

2.Add Text Watermark

In this section, you can also get the effect by setting the attribute value of opacity, top, left, width and height. And if you want to apply the current setting to all files, you just tick Apply to All box.

Tip: There are two buttons in the right of Text Watermark textbox- "A" and "C". Click "A" button, you can see this main window:

After the above setting, you will own a distinctive DVD which may be admired by many people. And what’s more important, you can enjoy it with your friends or family and treasure it forever!
